Future Directions
Results of Testing
[Yet to be determined]
Recommendations
- Current dye stains too skin and clothes, and is hard to clean from the water when released
- Mechanism of release should be made easier for a child to use.
- Mechanism of release should be made to release dye faster.
- Find a better materials for contruction of bracelet itself. Ideally, the tubing should be softer and have thinner walls, yet should not collapse
Next Steps
- Continue improving product, and addressing product concerns raised in "Recommendations."
- Continue testing product. This should involved testing with human subjects in active pool settings.
- Look in potential substitutes for current dye.
- Once testing is complete, conduct further market research to check for interest in project. This may include giving product demonstrations
-
- Based on results from market research and product testing, we will decide our course of action.
- If results are poor, we will continue developing product, or look at rethinking our entire approach.
- If results are moderate, we will try to obtain funding for further R&D.
- If results are excellent, we will try to obtain funding for manufacturing.
- At this point, we tentatively expect to be able to gather about $250,000 from investors, goverment sources, or community programs supporting youth entrepreneurship. If our products goes into manufacture, we will begin to distribute products to small community pools, setting sales goals of about.
- After one year, we will review our enterprise, and decide whether to expand and raise our goals.
Further Work
- Develop a version of the bracelet which will allow it be identified at night
- Develop either a device which will easily clean up the pool after use of the product or substance for the bracelet that will allow for easy cleanup
